Ko&Ko Norway began its journey in 2011 and is based in Fosnavåg, near Ålesund. This is where the ideas and designs are created. From here, all products—mostly dresses—are packed and shipped. Stine is behind it all. She has always worn dresses because they are comfortable and practical. Best of all, she believes dresses turn everyday life into a celebration. Our goal is to develop an exciting and unique dress concept. We design dresses that bring joy through fit, quality, and expression. We want to inspire more people to wear dresses through our timeless designs. Helping people who do not usually wear dresses discover how comfortable they can be is one of the things we enjoy most. It is wonderful to discover how easy it is to look stylish and be practical at the same time. You do not have to put together several garments; everything is combined in one. At Ko&Ko, you will find dresses in every style, and you do not have to be a fashionista to wear one. In fact, our best-selling dress is a sporty design worn by active women in their everyday lives.

Our products must be of high quality. They should be sustainable and functional, and so comfortable to wear that you prefer a dress to anything else. We are more concerned with design than trends, because our dresses are meant to be worn over time. It is a simple way to be sustainable. For us, it is about designing dresses that last.

How did it all begin?

Stine has been drawing doodles and flowers all her life and trained as a florist at Vea. She married Øyvind, who is a chef and aesthetician. Both are passionate about Norwegian design and fine craftsmanship, and both have experienced how hard work produces results. In 2009, they left their respective businesses to focus fully on Ko&Ko AS, designing and producing dresses. It was completely KOKO to think that they could make a living designing and selling dresses in Norway. But the first KOKO dress was sold in October 2011. Today, we are very proud to have already sold more than 300,000 dresses, all of which are distributed and shipped from our warehouse in Fosnavåg.

All the dresses are produced in Poland and Lithuania by manufacturers we trust and have come to know well. We have mutual respect and want the best for one another. Ko&Ko Norway does not have a physical store, but sells its dresses through the online store www.kokonorway.com and through retailers. Today, we sell dresses all over the world. Anything is possible between the fjords and mountains of Fosnavåg in Sunnmøre. We have experienced exciting growth since 2011, and in 2019 Ko&Ko AS became a Gazelle company. The Gazelle is Dagens Næringsliv’s annual award for Norway’s fastest-growing companies.
